The Phoenix House - Epic Tiny Home GEM on Volcanic Lava Field

Particolare, ma non per tutti!! Positive: La struttura si trova in una posizione unica, all'interno del campo di lava. Ben arredata con oggetti molto particolari. il proprietario è molto disponibile. Negative: Purtroppo non siamo riusciti a stare in questa casa piu di una notte per la presenza di scarafaggi sia nel bagno e nel soffitto. Il proprietario ha distribuito delle trappole ma purtroppo c'erano diversi insetti. la tenda con la rete ci ha permesso di dormire in serenità solo la prima notte, poi abbiamo dovuto cambiare alloggio. è una casa particolare ma non adatta a tutti.

The view, amenities

A quirky gem of a tiny house Positive: The Phoenix House is a special place to stay. It's probably not for everyone, because it is completely off the grid and it's in a remote location which gets very dark at night. But it is one-of-a-kind! For a "tiny house," there was plenty of room for me (solo traveler), and it is decorated so thoughtfully. I don't know how to describe it but it had a vibe that was relaxing and exciting at the same time. I even saw Kilauea erupting in the distance in the middle of the night, which was an awe-inspiring memory I'll carry with me forever. Negative: As I said in the previous section, this is probably not for everyone. If you're expecting a cookie-cutter Holiday Inn, stay in one. As a solo female traveler, I did have an initial moment of panic when I arrived, and I thought maybe I should turn around and find myself a Holiday Inn. But I am so grateful I stayed!

A truly otherworldly experience! It felt almost like being on the moon, or the end of the earth... but comfortable and relaxing! We very much enjoyed the multiple rainbows, the crazy volcano-controlled weather, the feeling of isolation, the lovely, intricate "lawns" of black lava. And we got to meet some of the neighbors, which was sweet.Be aware: The area where this property is WAY out there, so there really aren't very many "touristy" things nearby.Our least favorite aspects: The wind noise was constant (a bit disconcerting for our sleep), and there was an unexpectedly lot of ambient light (path markers, neighbors driving by or with lights on all night, etc) for being "in the middle of nowhere".

It was such a marvelous experience. The tiny house had everything we needed. If you want to experience a different environment you will enjoy it. IT WAS MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!
